Lloret de Mar Stuff

Eating out in Lloret de Mar offers a wide range of excellent restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Featured on this page are some of my personal favourites, all of which have their own excellent choice of menu. Some have their own speciality dish such as La Campana and El Relicario, which are both renowned for their spit roasted chicken, or you could try the galtes at Can Guidet!             

 I have created a useful interactive map for all the featured restaurants on this page, this will show you the exact location of each one.

Orient Express

I'm sure there's no need to describe the decor of the Orient Express Restaurant! This cosy restaurant has a superb location opposite the beach in Lloret de Mar, so is within quite easy walking distance from just about anywhere in town. The Orient has two floors, with the top one being the ideal place to take your seat by the window and journey through your evening meal surrounded by the glamorous  decor based on the most famous train in the world! Their menu offers something for everyones taste, they have a huge range of steaks, chicken, burgers, pizzas, pasta dishes and a great paella!...on Sunday they also serve a traditional roast dinner from 12noon. Through the day you can also choose from a vast selection of fresh hot filled baguettes, Engish or Continental breakfast, filled jacket potatoes and delicous home made pies, or you are quite welcome to just pop in for a cuppa! Open daily from 9am - 12pm.

Calamic Steakhouse

Calamic Steak House is decorated in a very old Spanish style giving this popular restaurant     loads of character. As you walk through the 'old' wooden doors you are met by the friendly staff of this quaint restaurant! Once inside you notice how tastefully decorated this place is with its dark wooden beams and Spanish style dark wooden tables and chairs. The crisp white linen tablecloths and white washed walls really add to the character! Calamic is only 2 minutes from the beach in Lloret de Mar, their address is Sant Gerard 6 this is one of the tiny narrow streets behind the town hall. On their menu for the first course is a selection of hot and cold dishes including salads, pastas, rice dishes and soups. For the main course menu you have an excellent choice of pork, veal, duck, lamb, steak, pasta and various fish recipes. Their menu del dia changes weekly, and they have a great menu for the kids. Calamic is open for lunch 1pm - 3.30pm, evening 8pm - 11pm closed on Mondays.

El Reno

Feeling peckish at 3am? thats no problem in Lloret de Mar. The very popular family run El Reno is open 24 hrs a day. On the road towards Blanes this restaurant-pizzeria gives great service with a great menu, and great prices! Their menu consists of grilled meats, pasta and pizzas. Inside is a maze of dining areas, tastefully decorated in a country style and spotlessly clean. During the warmer weather there is also a very large terrace where you can dine outside if you prefer. There's plenty of parking in the restaurants grounds.

Autentic

Here at the Autentic restaurant, (formerly known as the Washington) you are made very welcome by the friendly staff, and the service is excellent. On their busiest days you almost go dizzy watching the waiters as they dash from table to table! With their 'menu del dia' you have a large selection of mouth watering meals from which to choose. For something special try their evening 'A La Carte' menu. Find them at the back of the Royal Beach Hotel in Fenals.

La Campaña
La Campaña or 'Pedro's' as this restaurant is often called by the locals and regular customers is  the place to eat if you like to try the local speciality....in  this case its chicken ! I cant imagine another place where a dish is as popular as Pedro's chicken is in Lloret de Mar, served with a large colourful salad, chips and piles of delicious toasted tomato bread, wash it all down with Sangria or champagne...you cant beat it. If your feeling guilty about the calories you can always dance a few off on the dance floor afterwards!

 El Relicario

Another popular restaurant for chicken in Lloret de Mar is El Relicario their menu also includes succulent steaks, and other grilled meats, served with garnishing. El Relicario is also known as the 'Cellar' but dont let the name put you off! Once inside you are shown to your table in what closely resembles a typical Spanish farmhouse. You will find that El Relicario's is extremely cosy during the winter months owing to the large open spit roasted area, but in the summer is very cool...fantastic air con.

For a really nice 'menu del dia' visit the Can Sabata restaurant, where you will be spoilt for choice with the huge range of dishes from which to choose from! At a cost of only €9 per person their daily menu is excellent value. The evening 'a la carte' menu is also great value and this old farmhouse is in a beautiful setting suitable for any special occasion meal. Can Sabata is situated on the junction of the Girona - Blanes road but still within easy walking distance from either Lloret or Fenals. Although the Can Sabata gets very busy at lunch time the service is excellent with lots of parking!

La Fusta

La Fusta Restaurant in the centre of Lloret de Mar (only a few metres from the church) has been in the same family for years and is one of Llorets better restaurants. Popular with locals and the regular visitors to Lloret de Mar, they serve excellent food and personally I have eaten here on many occasions and enjoyed every single meal! La Fusta is closed on Sundays but open the rest of the week for 'menu del dia' at only €8.90 and evening meals from their extensive menu. This tastefully decorated restaurant is ideal for couples to come and enjoy a special night out in a very cosy and romantic atmosphere!

The Free Wok

For something very different to the other     restaurants on this page try the Free Wok where they offer a Chinese buffet service with an unlimited choice of dishes. They open at 12.30 - 4.30pm for lunch then reopen at 7.15pm - 12.00 for their evening meal. This large restaurant has excellent food with just about every sort of meat and seafood along with almost every other food you could name, all ready for you to help yourself to! Eat as much or as little as you like for one price - €8.95 for lunch and €11.75 for the evening menu, (prices are a little more at weekends) drinks are extra. The food is always very good, you simply find your table and then take your choice from the massive ready cooked choice of dishes for your first course. For your second course you can take your pick of any meat or fish and take it to the chef to be cooked with any of their sauces. Weekend prices are a little higher. The Free Wok is at the top of the hill between Lloret de Mar and Fenals.

The America 

Can Guidet

Just on the edge of town up near the Olympic Hotel is the Can Guidet Restaurant, a very busy restaurant which offers excellent food and great value for money! The food on the menu is very Catalan with such things as butifarra (large tasty sausage), galtes and rabbit. I can recomend the galtes which is cooked and served in its own terracotta dish. This seems to be the restaurants speciality dish as everyone comes to Can Guidet for the galtes...the best in town! I can also recommend the Catalan salad which  comes with a huge variety of sliced Catalan meats and cheese layered over the top. Ask for a large one from which your table can help themselves to along with the toasted bread rubbed with tomato, garlic and olive oil...delicous! Also on the menu are the tastiest lamb chops, steaks, chicken, pastas, seafood and lots more from which to choose. Can Guidet is set in its own grounds in which they grow much of their own vegetables. There is also a childrens play area, and lots of parking space.

Giorgio's

I can personally recommend the food at Giorgio's where both the food and service is first class.They offer great value daily and evening menus as well as their extensive 'A la Carte' menu. Giorgio's restaurant is a firm favourite for many of Lloret de Mar residents, and  being situated only 5 minutes from town you are almost out in the countryside in a very rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of Lloret. The restaurant is decorated to a very high standard. Their menu consists of some excellent dishes such as exquisite grilled steaks served on a sizzling stone, fresh lobster served with succulent rice, Italian risottos in a wide range of flavours and tasty homemade pizzas...oh! I nearly forgot the massive display of wines from which to choose from to help wash it all down! Plenty of Parking available.

El Rancho

The El Rancho restaurant is situated in Fenals on the Lloret to Blanes road. This is one of the nicest looking restaurants in this area owing to all the greenery hanging from the outside terrace giving it a nice rustic look! Once inside you are shown to your table by the welcoming staff. The food on the menu mainly consists of grilled meats such as pork chops, steaks and lamb chops, or why not try the whole lot on one plate with their mixed grill at €22 for 2 people! They also serve pastas, bolognese and pizzas (which you can also order to take away)  The prices here are very reasonable with a T-bone steak and chips at only €5.50.

This must be one of the the cheapest restaurants in Lloret de Mar!

The Planiol Restaurant

You wont find a restaurant any nearer to the beach than the Planiol in Fenals. Its seafront location makes it very popular for dining out either day or night. Through the day its very handy for day trippers to the resort, they can come and sit by the large windows while eating their 'menu del dia' looking out over the picturesque Fenals beach. Seafood is very prominent on the menu here, but if this is not your favourite dish then you still have a fantastic choice of steaks, chops and chicken all served with garnishing of your choice. Also a huge choice of home made pizzas and pastas. The Planiol has a second very nice restaurant in Fenals which stands in its own gardens and can be found just at the top of the same road. Owner Louis is a very friendly chap and a well known character around Fenals, you may be lucky enough to catch him in either of his restaurants where he will be eager to tell you all his stories about his younger days!

Ca'l Sogre

Located down in the centre of Lloret de Mar just behind the Burger King and McDonalds is a very nice restaurant and this is the Ca'l Sogre. This cosy restaurant has a great menu where if choosing  steak, ribs or any other grilled meat you can actually see it being cooked on the open barbeque in front of you....this roaring fire is always a nice sight during the winter months when the weather is feeling much cooler outside. For the summer months though you can take a table in the completely seperate closed in terrace away from the heat!

Tobago Restaurant

This Argentian steak house has received fantastic reviews for its food (Read Here) The daily menu is only €9 and is excellent value for money. For the meat lovers this is the place to come, I guarantee your meat will be cooked to your liking. You will have to have a huge appetite to be able to clear your plate if ordering the mixed grill, there is just about every meat you can imagine there! The staff here are very helpful and give excellent service. Tobago is centrally located just off the main strip in Lloret alongside the Revolution Disco.

Route 66

You really must try the food at the Route 66! This American style diner is certainly a great place to dine out. Owners Andy & Jackie are always there to personally wecome you to their restaurant where they have put together an excellent menu of delicous steaks, burgers, BBQ ribs and chicken fillets with a choice of sauces along with pizzas,salads, nachos and much much more. They also do a very good English breakfast which we call in for quite often! Just now (between 3pm-7pm) they have a fantastic offer of 2 meals for €9.95....this is great value for families. Come and take your seat by the windows and look out over the Med...the best view in town! You are quite welcome to just pop in for a snack or even just a drink and a chat if you choose. The restaurant is decorated to a high standard with original American advertising plaques and pictures on the walls.

The Xaloc

Down on the seafront in Fenals is the excellent restaurant Xaloc, they are under the same owners as the restaurant Giorgio (on this page) and have an equally good menu and high standard of food and service. This is a very nice place to dine out as they have a fantastic evening menu which is ideal for any special occasion meal as you look out over the sea and the beach of Fenals. Their menu del dia is a firm favourite with many of the locals in Lloret de Mar, one of the best around at a cost of €10. With an outdoor terrace and the new seating area out on the pavement you are also quite welcome to come and sit for just a relaxing drink, a nice litre jug of sangia would go down very nice!

 El Jardi

The rustic style El Jardi Resaurant can be found opposite the Royal Star hotel on the road leading from Lloret to Fenals. I recommend you try their very good menu of the day for a very reasonable €9.90 and as with most restaurants your meal comes with bread and wine! The food is cooked in the dining area, so you can see exactly where and how its cooked. For the first course you have a choice of 12-13 items including 3-4 varieties of homemade soups, cannelonis, salads, tortilla, spagetti and lots more. The dishes for the second course include chicken, steak, butifarra and churrasco ribs all served with a choice of chips, jacket or mashed potato. For your third course you can choose either ice-cream, crema Catalan, flan, rice with milk, yogurt and lots more!

El Nou Moli

One of the best places to go for a 'Menu del Dia' is the Nou Moli (New Moli) bar restaurant in the Nou Moli district of Lloret de Mar. Not only do they do a day time menu but also an evening three course menu, with a massive choice for each one - I have quite often seen upto 18 dishes for the main one to choose from, so there is sure to be always something you like. Or why not just take pot luck and opt for something which you have never tried before, I quite often do this.... and have never been disapointed with my meal yet! You can if you prefer just select any two courses from the menu as some people cannot eat the large portions of a full three course meal...making this one of the best value for money restaurants in town! This is a family run bar/restaurant with very friendly staff, where if you just call in for a few drinks they keep the free tapas coming until you simply cant eat anymore the choice is amazing don't be frightened to try them.

Can Taulina

Out on the road heading towards Girona is a restaurant that do a great 'menu del dia' for only €9, this is the Can Taulina and they are based right opposite the Go Kart track. Owing to the restaurant been surrounded by industry there are a lot of workers that go for their lunch, but to me that proves how good the food is here, and also the service is very good. For the first course on the menu there are usually 5-6 dishes from which to choose, then for your second course about 8 different dishes...ensuring you can always find something to your liking whatever your taste.

Leman Restaurant & Pizzeria

One thing you can be sure of if you live or holiday in the Fenals area of Lloret de Mar is that you are never too far away from a nice restaurant. The Leman is a great choice whether its just a quick snack through the day or a nice meal out to celebrate a special occasion. You can eat your meal either out on the  terrace or indoors in their tastefully decorated  and spotlessly clean dining area. Their menu has a vast choice of meals ranging from simple snacks and pizzas to the tastiest steaks, seafood, or pastas....and they have a fantastic array of desert dishes from which to choose.   You can find Leman on the left of Avenida America in Fenals heading down towards the Royal Beach hotel.
